Anell is an experienced paediatric gastroenterologist working at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne.
She is dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate care for children with gastrointestinal disorders. With over 10 years of experience, Anell specializes in diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions, including chronic abdominal pain, inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, gastro-esophageal reflux, liver and pancreatic conditions.
Anell earned her medical degree from the University of the Free State, South Africa. She completed a residency in paediatrics followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Clinical Nutrition at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. She was awarded the Nestle Nutrition Institute training fellowship in 2012-2013 and completed a fellowship in Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Clinical Nutrition at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne. Anell is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) as well as the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa(CMSA).
Committed to staying at the forefront of medical advancements, Anell regularly participates in continuing medical education and clinical research. She completed a master’s degree in Pediatrics in 2012. As a clinical research associate at the Murdoch Children’s Research Insititute (MCRI), she has had multiple publications in her field in international peer-reviewed journals and frequently present at national and international medical conferences.
Known for a patient-centered approach, Anell collaborates closely with families to create personalized treatment plans that promote optimal health and wellbeing for each child.
